April 1964-Jim McMichael Signs Starts It’s History!

50 years ago…do you remember what was happening?

Here’s a small recap-

But, here in Knoxville, Tn a 21 year old Marine Corp E5 Sergeant started his own history- The beginning of Jim McMichael Signs and Truck Painting.

Coming home from serving in the Marine Corp from 1960-1964, Jim McMichael had to decide what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. After taking Commercial Art at Fulton High School, Jim felt he had a natural God given talent for painting and he wanted to put it to use. He had always wanted to design and be his own boss so what better way then to start his own business!

 

 

So with nothing more than talent, determination and the use of the trunk of his 58′ Chevrolet, 3.18.14 007

White Plumbing was Jim’s very 1st customer back in ’64 with his first lettering job being to letter their truck doors.

With the average yearly salary being $6,080, Jim was well on his way to being successful as he grossed $9,000 in his 1st year!
